Sweetheart Strawberry Pie

1(4-serving) package vanilla sugar-free pudding and pie filling mix
1 (0.3-ounce) package strawberry sugar-free gelatin
2½ cups cold water
4 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 baked (9-inch) pie shell
12 ounces frozen "Lite" whipped topping, thawed
Combine the pudding mix, gelatin, and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Chill until slightly thickened.
Arrange the strawberries in the pie shell. Spoon the cooled pudding mixture over the strawberries. Chill, covered, until set. Spread with the whipped topping, sealing to the edge. Chill, covered, until serving time.
