| Our home page incorporates a
"user-centric design" which focuses on the needs and natural
inclinations of online users, rather than the technology.
We have identified two types of online consumers: the Browsing
consumer and the Searching consumer.
The Browser is not necessarily looking for
anything in particular and is usually researching information for a later
purchase (online or offline). For the Browser we have 34
different product category floors and 3 specialty floors that can be
perused easily from any location in the mall.
The Searcher comes to an online site with
a more specific purpose - usually to comparison shop and then makes a
purchase. Searchers require online tools to help them
quickly accomplish their goals. One of our "shopping" tools is
the Power Search which was developed specifically for the specialty food
industry.
The Gourmet Food Mall Home Page also features selected
merchants, products, and a monthly recipe submitted by one of our
merchants.
